Creative and mental growth.

Today I'm going to write about someone I admire and it gives me inspiration to study what I'm studying right now.
I'm talking about:  Viktor Lowenfeld.
He was born in the year 1903, in Linz, Austria. He was always connected with arts, either in music or paint. He graduated from the College of Applied Arts in Vienna to become a professor of art education at the Pennsylvania State University.
During his profession he developed the theory of stages in the drawings of children. This were consisted in: 1) scribble, 2) preschematic, 3) schematic, 4)dawning realism, 5) pseudorealism and 6) period of crisis.
Specially in Education the most important stages are Scribble, preschematic and schematic.
In 1974, he published the book "Creative and mental growth" wich become the most influential book in art education. This book is the reason why I like Viktor Lowenfeld, because it show us how to analize the drawings of the children, according to the ages of them and also with the help of this book, I can see some characteristics or some problems that my students could have.
